JCI Closes Higher at 7,092 as Asian Markets Advance in Unison
JAKARTA – The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) closed higher in trading today, Wednesday (6/5/2026). According to Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) data, the JCI rose 0.50% to 7,092.47 from the previous level of 7,057.11.
Throughout the trading session, the JCI moved in the range of 7,049.92 to 7,127.72. The index opened at 7,086.34 and remained in positive territory until the close.
The JCI’s strengthening was supported by the majority of major indices. The LQ45 Index rose 1.18% to 682.76, while the KOMPAS100 gained 0.54% to 959.07.
The IDX30 Index rose 0.36% to 380.75, and the JII70 strengthened 1.04% to 182.84.
From a sectoral perspective, the basic materials sector recorded the highest increase of 1.91% to 2,229.89. The non-primary consumer goods sector rose 1.41% to 751.41, followed by the property sector which gained 0.99% to 927.23.
The transportation and logistics sector rose 1.21% to 2,225.97, the industrial sector strengthened 0.43% to 2,057.86, and the infrastructure sector gained 0.40% to 2,098.64. Meanwhile, the primary consumer goods sector rose 0.22% to 1,093.53.
Trading activity was observed to be busy with a volume of 34.88 billion shares and a transaction value of Rp17.68 trillion. The trading frequency was recorded at 2.43 million transactions.
A total of 361 stocks strengthened, 306 weakened, and 292 were stagnant.
Among the stocks, the top gainers were led by DEFI shares which rose 51 points or 34.23% to 200. Followed by RICY shares which rose 32 points (34.04%) to 126, and PYFA which strengthened 76 points (25.00%) to 380.
Next, ABDA shares surged 950 points (24.93%) to 4,760 and HALO rose 18 points (24.66%) to 91.
Then, ASLI shares fell 34 points (9.83%) to 312 and CASA corrected 120 points (8.16%) to 1,350.
For stocks with the largest transaction values, BRPT recorded Rp1.34 trillion. Followed by BMRI shares at Rp673.92 billion, PTRO Rp617.25 billion, BBRI Rp579.66 billion, and BBCA Rp518.65 billion.
In terms of volume, GOTO recorded the highest transaction with 44.84 million shares. Followed by KOTA 17.20 million shares, BUMI 15.30 million shares, ASHA 12.04 million shares, and ENZO 11.64 million shares.
In line with today’s JCI rise, Asian markets also mostly closed higher. China’s SSE Composite Index rose 1.17% to 4,160.17. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng Index strengthened 1.22% to 26,213.78, and Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 0.38% to 59,513.12.
Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 Index also gained 1.30% to 8,793.60, while South Korea’s KOSPI surged 6.45% to 7,384.56. On the other hand, the Asia Dow Index weakened 0.39% to 5,982.19.
