Indonesia’s Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) closed higher on Wednesday, 14 October 2026. The index rose 17.048 points, or 0.29%, to 5,943.024 at the end of trading, although most traded shares recorded losses.

Data cited from the RTI website showed that trading volume on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) reached 31.246 billion shares, with transactions worth Rp11.048 trillion.

Of all shares traded, 280 rose and 321 fell, while another 194 were unchanged.

The index managed to remain in positive territory at the close, despite more shares declining than advancing.

The JCI opened at 5,940.675. During the session, it reached a high of 6,009.955 and a low of 5,906.740.

Technology Sector Leads JCI Gains

The JCI’s rise was supported by gains across most equity sectors. Of the 11 sectors, nine advanced and two declined.

Technology posted the biggest gain, rising 2.59%, followed by property, up 1.39%.

The industrial sector gained 0.87%.

The performance of these three sectors contributed to the domestic stock market’s positive finish on Wednesday. Technology’s advance stood out most among the sectors.

By contrast, cyclical and financial stocks remained under pressure. The cyclical sector fell 0.61%, while the financial sector edged down 0.01%.

The divergence between sectors showed that the JCI’s gains were not shared evenly across all groups of shares. Nevertheless, advances in most sectors helped the index close in positive territory.

Several shares recorded the biggest gains on Wednesday, 14 October 2026. According to the trading data provided, TRON, SONA, BLTZ, BIKE and PTSP were among the day’s top gainers.
