JCI Closes Higher at 5,912 Despite Early Pressure, 327 Stocks End in Positive Territory

Jakarta, VIVA – The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) successfully ended Thursday’s trading, 9 July 2026, in the green after moving lower at the start of the session. The strengthening occurred towards the close of trade, bringing the index to touch its highest level of the day.

According to RTI data, the IHSG closed up 39.069 points, or 0.67 per cent, at 5,912.442.

The movement reflects a recovery after the index opened at 5,865 and traded in negative territory early in the session.

Throughout the trading session, the IHSG recorded a low of 5,839, whilst its high of 5,912 coincided with the closing position.

Transaction Value Exceeds Rp12 Trillion

Trading activity on the Indonesia Stock Exchange was fairly busy.

Total volume of shares traded reached 27.092 billion shares, with a transaction value of Rp12.055 trillion.

Meanwhile, trading frequency was recorded at 2,246,793 transactions.

The Indonesia Stock Exchange’s market capitalisation at this afternoon’s close stood at Rp10,351.261 trillion.

Majority of Shares Close Higher

The IHSG’s gains were also supported by the dominance of shares finishing in the green.

Trading data showed: 327 shares advanced, 275 shares declined, and 190 shares were unchanged.

The composition reflects positive sentiment that managed to push the index back into positive territory by the end of trade.

Opened Lower

Earlier, the IHSG began Thursday morning’s trading on the back foot.

The index opened down 7.60 points, or around 0.13 per cent, at 5,865.77.

Not only the IHSG but also blue-chip shares in the LQ45 Index started the session in the red.

The LQ45 Index fell 1.77 points, or 0.30 per cent, to 581.11 at the open.

Global and Domestic Sentiment Still Weighs on the Market

Prior to trading, market players were monitoring various sentiments expected to influence the IHSG’s movement.

Ratna Lim, Head of Research at Phintraco Sekuritas, had previously estimated that the index still had the potential to continue its correction to test the support area.

“The IHSG is estimated to still have the potential to continue its correction to test the support area in the range of 5,800–5,745 in Thursday’s trading,” said Ratna Lim in her research note in Jakarta.

According to her, market movement remains influenced by a combination of domestic and international sentiment.
