JCI Closes First Session Up 4.82 Percent, Majority of Shares Gain and LQ45 Surges 5.62 Percent
The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) recorded a significant strengthening at the close of the first trading session on Tuesday, 9 June 2026. The Indonesian stock market moved positively, with the majority of shares in the green, driven by gains in nearly all index sectors.
Based on trading data up to midday, the JCI closed up 4.82 percent, or a gain of 257.604 points, to a level of 5,599.741.
The index’s movement was quite dynamic from the opening of trade. The JCI opened at a level of 5,342 and moved variably throughout the session. The index was recorded touching a high of 5,627 and a low of 5,318 before finally closing the first session in positive territory.
Positive sentiment was evident from the dominance of stocks experiencing price increases. Of all shares traded in the first session, 603 stocks were recorded as having gained. Meanwhile, only 118 shares weakened. The remainder moved sideways or experienced no price change compared to the previous trade.
The dominance of advancing stocks demonstrated market participants’ optimism in today’s trading. The increase also occurred evenly across various sectors, thereby helping to push the JCI to a higher level.
In terms of trading activity, shares of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA), PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (TPIA), and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) were the three issuers with the largest transaction values up to the close of the first session. The high transaction values in these large-capitalisation shares contributed to the overall index strengthening. Trading activity focused on blue-chip stocks also reflected high investor interest in issuers with strong fundamentals and liquidity.
The JCI’s strengthening in the first session was supported by gains across all sectoral indices recorded on the Indonesia Stock Exchange.
The industrial sector was one of those recording the largest increase, with growth of 5.93 percent. This was followed by the basic materials sector, which strengthened by 5.71 percent.
