JCI Closes Down 2.19% at 7,026, Majority of Shares Weaken
JAKARTA - The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) closed sharply lower on Thursday (2/4/2026). According to data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), the JCI plunged 157.66 points or 2.19% to the level of 7,026.78.
The JCI opened at 7,153.11, lower than the previous close of 7,184.44. Throughout the trading session, the index reached a high of 7,161.80 and a low of 7,019.23.
The total volume of shares traded on the exchange today reached 23.93 billion shares with a transaction value of Rp 12.76 trillion. The trading frequency was recorded at 1.76 million times, with a market capitalisation of Rp 12,304 trillion.
Several major indices weakened in unison. The LQ45 fell 12.21 points or 1.68% to 714.58, while the IDX30 corrected by 4.63 points or 1.18% to 388.64.
The KOMPAS100 also weakened by 21.89 points or 2.20% to 970.96. Meanwhile, the Sharia index was also under pressure, with the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) falling 9.79 points or 2.00% to 479.56.
The Indonesia Sharia Stock Index (ISSI) weakened by 5.90 points or 2.30% to 251.18, while the JII70 fell 3.53 points or 1.90% to 182.46.
The energy sector also weakened by 2.94%, the transportation sector fell 2.08%, and the technology sector corrected by 2.07%. The industrial sector fell 2.23%, while the property sector weakened by 1.57%.
The financial sector fell 0.72% and the health sector weakened 0.68%. The only sector that strengthened was cyclical consumer goods, which rose slightly by 0.45%, while the non-cyclical consumer goods sector fell 0.61%.
Among the LQ45 stocks, the top gainers included PT Mitra Adiperkasa Tbk (MAPI), which rose 4.40% to Rp 1,305 per share, PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (DSSA) strengthened 2.70% to Rp 70,375, and PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia Tbk (CPIN) rose 2.41% to Rp 4,250.
Meanwhile, the top losers were led by PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN), which plunged 12.73% to Rp 4,800, followed by PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT) down 12.33% to Rp 1,280, and PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk (AMMN) weakened 8.29% to Rp 4,700.
Other stocks that also corrected include PT Alamtri Minerals Indonesia Tbk (ADMR), which fell 6.47% to Rp 1,880, and PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk (MEDC) weakened 4.75% to Rp 1,605.
For major banking stocks, movements were varied. PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI) fell 0.90% to Rp 3,320, PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (BBNI) weakened 0.54% to Rp 3,700, and PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI) fell 1.48% to Rp 4,650.
On the other hand, shares of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) were the only one to strengthen, rising 1.15% to Rp 6,575 per share.
