Jakarta - The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) extended its decline until the close of trading on Thursday, 26 March 2026. The JCI weakened by 1.89 per cent or 138.03 points to 7,164.09.

Based on monitoring by VIVA through Stockbit, the JCI moved within the range of 7,323 to the intraday low of 7,154. The transaction value was recorded at Rp32.35 trillion with a total of 1.73 million trades.

The energy sector took a hard hit, correcting by 2.91 per cent. Meanwhile, the transportation sector was the only one to record a gain of 2.96 per cent.

Other declines were seen in the industrial sector by 2.79 per cent, the cyclical consumer sector down 2.30 per cent, the basic materials sector eroded by 2.27 per cent, and the infrastructure sector lost 1.63 per cent. The technology sector weakened by 1.20 per cent, the health sector shrank by 0.76 per cent, the financial sector weakened by 0.64 per cent, the property sector plunged by 0.54 per cent, and the non-cyclical consumer sector fell by 0.18 per cent.

β€œThe weakening of the JCI was partly caused by profit-taking amid uncertainties regarding negotiations for a ceasefire between the United States (US) and Iran,” said the Phintraco Sekuritas Analysis Team in its daily research on Thursday, 26 March 2026.

The US stated that negotiations have taken place, while Iran denied any direct interaction with the US. Meanwhile, Iran stated it has no intention of negotiating with the US and added that the exchange of proposals between the two countries through a mediator does not mean negotiations have occurred.

From a technical perspective, the Phintraco Sekuritas Analysis Team assessed that although the JCI closed weaker, the negative MACD histogram continues to narrow, and the Stochastic RSI is heading towards the pivot area. The JCI is still holding above the MA5.

Several issuers managed to record gains while the JCI corrected. Here are the three top gainers among the 45 leading stocks (LQ45).
