Foreign investors continued their selling spree in the Indonesian stock market during trading on Monday (18/05/2026), amidst sharp pressure hitting the Indonesia Composite Index (JCI). Foreign investors recorded purchases of Rp 8.54 trillion and sales of Rp 9 trillion, resulting in a net foreign sell of Rp 464 billion.

The largest foreign sell-off occurred in the shares of PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM), with net selling reaching Rp 315 billion. Additionally, shares of companies within Prajogo Pangestu’s group were also widely offloaded by foreign investors. PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) recorded a foreign net sell of Rp 152.5 billion, while PT Amman Mineral Internasional Tbk (AMMN) reached Rp 149.1 billion.

Amidst the heavy selling, several major banking stocks actually recorded foreign net buys. PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) led with a net buy of Rp 107.1 billion, followed by PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI) at Rp 84.9 billion and PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI) at Rp 62.3 billion.

The JCI closed down 1.85%, or -124.08 points, to the level of 6,599.24 in today’s trading. A total of 647 stocks declined, 183 remained unchanged, and 129 rose. Transaction value reached Rp 20.47 trillion, involving 29.72 billion shares across 2.54 million transactions. Market capitalisation fell to Rp 11,539 trillion. Throughout the day, the JCI fluctuated within the range of 6,398.79–6,631.28, starting the session with a decline of more than 2% and briefly dropping by more than 4% during the first session.
