Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) closed weaker by 2.19% at 7,026.78 during Thursday’s trading (2/4). Amid this pressure, shares such as BBCA, DSSA, and MSIN served as the main supports for the index’s movement, each recording gains. Meanwhile, shares BREN, AMMN, and BYAN became the primary drags after experiencing significant declines. Foreign investors’ selling activity continued, with net sales reaching Rp864.49 billion in the regular market and Rp813.82 billion across all markets. On a sectoral basis, the majority of sector indices weakened, with the basic industrial sector recording the deepest decline. The cyclicals sector was the only one to post a slight gain. From global markets, US stock indices closed mixed. The Dow Jones corrected, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq recorded limited gains. Negative sentiment also loomed over Asian markets, including the JCI, amid growing concerns over escalating geopolitical tensions following statements by US President Donald Trump. This situation was previously reflected in the rise in Brent and WTI oil prices, as well as the weakening of Indonesian ETF indices such as EIDO and MSCI Indonesia during last weekend’s trading session. On the other hand, the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) released a list of stocks with high shareholding concentration (HSC) as of 2 April. Nine issuers were recorded with free float below 5%, namely ROCK, IFSH, SOTS, AGII, BREN, MGLV, DSSA, LUCY, and RLCO. This condition reflects limited liquidity due to dominance by a handful of owners. Market participants are beginning to pay attention to the potential changes in the composition of the MSCI Indonesia Large Cap index, particularly for BREN and DSSA shares, which have free floats of 2.69% and 4.24% respectively. From corporate actions, Dian Swastatika Sentosa (DSSA) plans to carry out a stock split with a 1:25 ratio after obtaining approval at the GMS on 11 March. The number of circulating shares will increase to 192.63 billion from the previous 7.70 billion. This policy is scheduled to be effective on 9 April, with an estimated share price of Rp2,815 per share, referring to the closing price on 2 April at Rp70,375 per share.
