JCC to challenge Dream Team

JAKARTA (JP): Six members of the JAPFA Chess Club (JCC) will challenge the Dream Team -- comprising young players Taufik Halay, Susanto Megaranto, Andrean Susilodinata and Tirta Chandra from the Utut Adianto chess school in Bekasi -- for a friendly match on Thursday at the JAPFA office in Daan Mogot, West Jakarta.

The friendly match will serve as a warm up for the players before they compete at the Bali National Competition in July and the Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Kuala Lumpur from Sept. 8 to Sept. 17.

The Dream Team is expected to be able to overcome foreign players such as from India, the Philippines and Vietnam in international events.

"So we have to prepare our chess players and JAPFA's support in grooming our top players is very much appreciated," Utut said in a press release. (yan)
