JBA Claims Successful Auction of 59,000 Used Cars in 2025
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.COM – The used-vehicle auction house posted promising performance throughout 2025. In the face of a weak new-car market, JBA Indonesia managed to boost sales of used cars and motorcycles through the auction mechanism.
“During 2025, JBA sold more than 59,000 used cars and more than 65,000 used motorcycles through the auction mechanism,” said JBA Indonesia’s Chief Operating Officer Deny Gunawan to Kompas.com on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.
“By way of comparison, in 2024 JBA recorded sales of more than 57,000 used cars and around 63,000 used motorcycles,” he said.
Meanwhile, used-motorcycle sales grew about 3.2 percent from 63,000 units to 65,000 units.
This rise indicates a positive, consistent trend, while underscoring that the used-vehicle market still holds strong appeal amid economic pressures.
Total wholesale only reached 803,687 units, down 7.2 percent from 2024’s 865,723 units. Retail sales also declined by 6.3 percent to 833,692 units.
This condition shows a shift in consumer interest toward the used-vehicle market, which is seen as more affordable and flexible.
The volume reflects the high supply of vehicles and the active auction ecosystem in maintaining unit turnover in the market.
As information, JBA targeted used-vehicle sales for 2025 at 55,000 units. With more than 59,000 sold, the achievement exceeded the target set.
