Wamena (ANTARA) - Deputy Regent (Wabup) of Jayawijaya Ronny Elopere has requested support from the Papua Regional Police (Polda) to handle inter-tribal conflicts in Wamena, Jayawijaya Regency, Papua Pegunungan. “The current situation on the ground requires serious attention from security forces, particularly the police, in helping to prevent conflicts in Wamena,” he said in a written statement in Wamena on Friday. Accompanied by Jayawijaya Police Chief AKBP Anak Agung Made Satriya Bimantara and Lanny Jaya Police Chief AKBP Frans D Tamaela, Deputy Regent Ronny Elopere met with Papua Police Chief Irjen Pol Patrige R Renwarin to discuss security and handling of the inter-tribal conflict between Lanny Jaya and Kurima Wouma Jayawijaya in Wamena. “We have already held a meeting and discussed many things.
