Jayapura City Government Urges Residents to Maintain Unity Ahead of Eid al-Fitr

Everyone must protect themselves, their families, and their surroundings to ensure that the Eid al-Fitr celebrations proceed smoothly. All members of society, let us together maintain security,” said Jayapura Mayor Abisai Rollo in Jayapura on Friday.

Rollo hopes that the Takbiran night activities will take place in a conducive and orderly manner, thus requiring support from all elements of society to avoid disturbances to public order.

“We urge the public to maintain conduciveness. Let us preserve unity as one large family of Jayapura City residents,” he stated.

He explained that the role of the community is very important because security is a collective responsibility and requires active participation from residents.

“The public needs to continuously maintain a calm and serene atmosphere ahead of Eid al-Fitr so that all worship activities can proceed comfortably,” he added.

He further mentioned that the Jayapura City Government will hold halal bihalal activities as an opportunity for socialising while strengthening unity with the local community.
