Jayapura (ANTARA) - The Jayapura City Government (Pemkot) in Papua has dismissed eight local civil servants (ASN) after they were found to have committed serious violations.

Mayor of Jayapura Abisai Rollo in Jayapura on Tuesday said that based on periodic performance monitoring and evaluation results, the eight ASN were subjected to severe sanctions in the form of dismissal across various categories.

“Three ASN with initials DW, YR, and FB were dishonourably dismissed as ASN after being proven to have committed serious violations leading to criminal cases, each with sentences of seven years’ imprisonment, eight years’ imprisonment, and 15 years’ imprisonment,” he said.

According to Rollo, meanwhile, two ASN, namely EK and YV, were given honourable dismissal sanctions at their own request due to serious violations.

“Then the other three ASN, namely IS, MP, and DR, were dismissed with the revocation of all their rights as civil servants,” he stated.

He explained that this enforcement is evidence of the local government’s seriousness in upholding regulations and maintaining the quality of public services.

“We emphasise that the sanctions imposed are not only as a form of punishment but also as a lesson for other ASN,” he added.

He further hoped that all ASN in the Jayapura City Government environment would work in a disciplined and responsible manner so that there would be no more employees who are absent without explanation.

The dismissal of the eight ASN was marked by placing a red cross on the photos of the individuals concerned during the morning assembly in the Jayapura City Government environment on Monday (13/4).

This step serves as an example for all ASN to always comply with regulations and maintain integrity in carrying out their duties as public servants.
