Jaya Raya leads Aqua Masters

KUDUS, Central Java (JP): Jakarta-based Jaya Raya club
dominated the Aqua Masters interclub national badminton
championships at the Djarum Kudus hall on Thursday evening.

Jaya Raya men's team defeated Djarum 3-1. The first victory
was gained from Markis Kindo who beat Holvy Depow 7-15, 15-13,
15-5. But in Jaya's second singles event Taufik Hidayat failed to
contest Agung Kuncoro and had to bow out 7-15, 4-15.

Jaya's men's doubles Hendra and Hendra crushed Roy and Billie
15-4, 15-1 and compatriots Hendry and Wandry sealed the victory
by defeating Adi and Hartoko 15-11, 15-11.

In the women's competition, Jaya Raya beat another Jakarta-
based club, Tangkas, 3-0. In the first singles event Silvi
Antarini won 11-6, 11-7 over Marissa, followed by the second
singles event where Kustyaningsih beat Anggreni 11-7, 11-7.
Doubles Silvi and Siti Mahreh completed Jaya's domination by
defeating Marissa and Natalia 6-15, 15-10, 15-9. (har)
