Jay Singgih urges HIPMI Jaya to help realise economic growth
Jay Singgih, Deputy Secretary General for Energy, Environment and Forestry at the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI), has urged the Jakarta chapter to take swift action in helping to realise economic growth of up to eight percent, in line with the President’s target. “We encourage HIPMI cadres to play a role and move quickly to support the government’s target of achieving eight percent economic growth and eradicating poverty to zero percent, as directed by President Prabowo,” Singgih said in Jakarta on Thursday. He stated that cadres must now take on roles and act rapidly to truly contribute to national economic growth. “It starts with advancing their own respective companies,” he said. He added that given Indonesia’s highly strategic geopolitical position, which makes it a target for investment, the entry of foreign companies should not be viewed as competitors. Instead, this should be seen as an opportunity for strategic partnerships, whether through agency schemes, joint ventures, or distributorships. Singgih said the role of national entrepreneurs is to help create a conducive investment climate while ensuring that any collaboration serves the national interest. As a strategic partner of the government, he said, HIPMI entrepreneurs must be aligned and share the same understanding with the government. “Government directives must be implemented, while input from the business community can still be conveyed elegantly to relevant state institutions and agencies,” he said. Previously, the Regional Board of HIPMI Jakarta successfully held a Regional Education and Training event (DIKLATDA) with the theme “The Role of Young Entrepreneurs in the Global Economic Transition”. The Chairman of BPD HIPMI Jaya, Muhammad Riandy Haroen, said young entrepreneurs must observe the uncertain global situation and adjust their business strategies to survive amid economic pressures. He expressed hope that the DIKLATDA HIPMI Jaya 2026 would serve as a platform for Jakarta’s young entrepreneurs to expand their networks and enhance their capacity.
