The myBCA International Java Jazz 2026 music festival will mark a transformation to deliver a fresh concept and experience for music lovers, including a venue relocation. Dewi Gontha, President Director of PT Java Festival Production, said transformation means creating something new. After years at the previous venue, the new location is expected to offer greater opportunities to explore creative ideas previously unrealised. ‘This 21st edition will be very fresh and interesting. Creatively, we have much more space to experiment. The facilities are also significantly larger. We want to offer something new for our audience,’ she said at a press conference in Jakarta on Monday. Further details of the new concept for the festival, Dewi added, are being tested as it is the first time at the new venue. The organisers are still studying audience responses to the new concepts this year. Dewi said the festival will feature new facilities such as glambot photo booths on the red carpet, free photo spots, and merchandise vending machines for direct visitor use. ‘There are many new elements we’ve never had before. We have the Museum of Foys, a collaboration with Sony Group creating a large space that includes not just Sony Music but also film elements. There’s also a lounge area that didn’t exist before, which will be a unique experience,’ she added. The largest jazz festival in Indonesia will also feature both domestic and international musicians. The 21st edition’s lineup includes Jon Batiste, Wave to Earth, 5 Petani, Billy Rom, Citrus Sun, Close Counters, Dave Koz and Friends Wummer Horns, Ella Mai, Aku Jeje, Aron!, Greybox Ensemble, Frank McComb, Jenevieve, Jo Soegono, Joao Sabia, Maliq & D’Essentials, Matthew Sayersz & Marckesia Karim, Nitatadi, Rafi Suditmam feat. Rara Sudirman & Sore Ze Band, The Groove feat. Tiara Effendy, The Lantis, Traffic Jam, Wijaya 80, and Yura Yunita.
