A fire at the Jatiwaringin Final Disposal Site (TPA) in Rajeg, Tangerang Regency, Banten, has caused a significant deterioration in air quality, according to the Ministry of Environment. The ministry stated that the blaze has driven concentrations of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) to around 1,000 micrograms per cubic metre, far surpassing the national daily quality standard of 55 micrograms per cubic metre and falling into the hazardous category for human health. Police have been evacuating residents impacted by the smoke from the landfill fire.
