Jatinangor Educational Zone Declared Off-Limits to Large Trucks

The Sumedang Regency Government has officially prohibited large trucks from passing through the Jatinangor educational area, directing them instead to use the Cisumdawu Toll Road. Bupati Dony Ahmad Munir stated that officers from the transportation agency and the Sumedang Police are currently stationed in the area to guide heavy vehicles, particularly tronton trucks and three-axle vehicles, away from the national road. He emphasised that the high density of vehicles and the frequent passage of large trucks posed significant safety risks to the educational zone, which hosts major institutions such as ITB, Unpad, IPDN, and Ikopin. The Bupati noted that while the authority over national roads lies with the Ministry of Transportation, his administration has sought recommendations to enforce the restriction. In a parallel effort to improve the area, the National Road Implementation Agency for DKI Jakarta-West Java has conducted cleaning and painting of road curbs, an initiative the Bupati described as meaningful for enhancing safety and aesthetics for road users.
