Jatim Park Group is inviting visitors to explore science, technology, disaster preparedness, and culture through the Mega Science Center and Culture located within the Jatim Park 1 area, Batu.

“We want to provide a learning experience that does not stop at looking and reading, but also invites visitors to try and interact directly,” said Titik S. Ariyanto, Marketing and Public Relations Manager of Jawa Timur Park Group, in a statement received in Surabaya on Friday.

According to her, when a concept can be felt through experience, the group hopes the process of understanding science, technology, and culture becomes more interesting and more easily accepted by various groups of people.

The Mega Science Center and Culture entered its trial opening phase on 16 September 2026 as part of the development of Jawa Timur Park Group’s educational tourism destinations in the Jatim Park 1 area.

The destination integrates science, technology, disaster management, and culture across several zones, allowing visitors to not only view various installations but also participate in direct interaction.

The experience begins in the outdoor area via the Gravity Coaster before visitors continue their exploration to the Physics Zone. In this area, visitors can try interactive installations such as bone connections, electricity and magnetism, sound transmission through fibre optics, and gyroscopes.

These various installations introduce physics concepts through direct experience, enabling visitors to understand scientific principles that are typically studied only through theory.

Exploration continues to the Space Zone, which features rockets, a Lunar Walk, planet videotron, Tesla Coils, and space suits. Through the Lunar Walk, visitors can experience the sensation of walking under gravity conditions designed to mimic the lunar surface.

After exploring space, visitors can experience simulations of various natural phenomena in the Natural Disaster Zone. This area features earthquake simulations, hurricane wind simulations, the Hormuz Storm Cinema, and the First Twister to introduce wind and storm phenomena.

Technological experiences are presented in the Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Zone. Visitors can try the Brain Race Car and Jumping Grid, interact with the GO2 robot dog, watch Robot Dances, and view the G1 humanoid robot.

“When a concept can be felt through experience, we hope the process of understanding science, technology, or culture becomes more interesting and more easily accepted by various groups,” said Titik.

The journey continues to the Culture Zone, which presents stories regarding the history and richness of Indonesian culture through the Majapahit area, Wilwatikta Temple, and Wayang Potehi. Meanwhile, the Islamic Zone provides information regarding the history of the development of Islam in Indonesia.

In addition to these zones, visitors can participate in several activities, including Wayang Suket workshops, Cardboard Wayang workshops, Potehi shows, Terracotta workshops, Srimulat shows, and Keris Dances, scheduled for 11:00 and 15:00.

The trial opening on 16 September 2026 serves as the initial stage for the public to directly experience the educational offerings of the Mega Science Center and Culture.

The presence of this destination completes the development of Jawa Timur Park Group’s educational tourism by providing an exploration space for students, families, and the general public through experiences in science, technology, disaster preparedness, and culture.
