Jatiluhur Dam Security Guard Found Dead in Lake, Handcuffed and in Uniform

A security guard at Jatiluhur Dam in Purwakarta Regency, identified as Sumarna, 40, was found dead in a lake on Friday (24/7) with his hands handcuffed behind his back and still wearing his uniform. The incident came to light after the head of the security unit noticed the guard had been missing since around 3 a.m. local time. Colleagues and local residents conducted a search, and the victim was found floating at the edge of Lake Tanggul Ubrug at approximately 11 a.m. A witness stated the guard had reportedly confronted a group of people suspected of vandalism at the vital national asset before his disappearance. Purwakarta Police Chief of Criminal Investigation, AKP I Made Purwantara, confirmed the victim was found handcuffed and in uniform. Authorities have secured the victim’s belongings, including his motorcycle and radio, and are conducting an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death. The investigation is ongoing to identify and apprehend the perpetrators and establish the motive behind the killing.
