The Assistant for Economy and Development of the Central Jakarta Administrative Secretariat, Suprayogie, stated that the revitalisation of Jati Pinggir Park along the West Flood Canal (KBB) in Petamburan, Central Jakarta, has reached 52 per cent and is proceeding according to plan.

“Monitoring is being conducted to check the progress of the arrangement and to identify existing obstacles on the ground. Currently, progress is at approximately 52 per cent and remains on track,” Suprayogie said in a written statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He noted that continuous monitoring is being carried out to ensure the redevelopment of the approximately one-kilometre area proceeds as planned while identifying field-level challenges. The monitoring process involves several regional apparatus organisations (OPD), including the Sub-department of Water Resources, the Sub-department of Parks and Urban Forests, the Sub-department of Public Works, the Sub-department of Transportation, as well as local sub-district and district authorities.

“This is not a new route, but rather an adjustment to the JAK 11 route, which will be diverted through Jati Pinggir. The hope is that the Petamburan community will have better access to public transport towards the Tanah Abang Market area,” Suprayogie added.

He mentioned that a trial of the route adjustment was conducted a few days ago and will subsequently be evaluated before an official route trial is implemented.

The Central Jakarta Municipal Government is also studying the possibility of moving the waste disposal site (LPS) on the banks of the West Flood Canal in RW 01 to a Waste Processing Site based on the Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (TPS 3R) principle in RW 04, Petamburan. This study considers the existing conditions and the daily volume of waste at both locations.

“Hopefully, this arrangement will be completed according to target and provide better public space and access for residents,” said Suprayogie.

Previously, the Mayor of Central Jakarta, Arifin, targeted the completion of the green open space (RTH) arrangement in Jati Pinggir, Tanah Abang District, by November 2026, so it can be utilised by the public ahead of the 500th anniversary of Jakarta.

As part of the redevelopment, the government will also construct a semi-permanent multi-purpose hall for community activities, equipped with children’s playgrounds and sports facilities. Furthermore, the potential view of Central Jakarta’s skyscrapers will be utilised as an attraction, aiming to establish the area as a new public space icon in Central Jakarta.
