State-owned insurance firm PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia (Persero), known as Asuransi Jasindo, has announced that its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) programme has reached more than 5,000 beneficiaries across 10 locations in Indonesia.

Corporate Secretary Brellian Gema Widayana stated that this achievement was realised through three ESG communication initiatives: the Narasemesta Jasindo, Peken Jasindo, and Satyaraga Jasindo programmes.

“This programme is not merely a philanthropic act, but an ESG communication architecture that transforms environmental risks and community economic vulnerabilities into opportunities for shared value creation,” Brellian said in an official statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday.

According to him, the company no longer positions social responsibility as conventional donations, but integrates it with environmental risk mitigation, economic empowerment, and insurance literacy. “We realise that creating sustainable value is no longer sufficient through a conventional donation approach,” he said.

Brellian added that this transformation is being carried out to address the challenges of climate change, local economic inequality, and low protection literacy within the community. He noted that Jasindo’s ESG programme has also empowered 200 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in various regions of Indonesia.

The company has implemented the Narasemesta and Peken Jasindo programmes in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. Narasemesta Jasindo focuses on environmental conservation, strengthening community resilience, and advocating for a green economy. Through this programme, the company runs stunting prevention initiatives for children and pregnant women in Tetaf Village, South Central Timor Regency.

Meanwhile, Peken Jasindo is directed at strengthening MSMEs through expanding market access, insurance education, and developing community economic independence. During its implementation in Kupang, Peken Jasindo involved 100 MSME players in a bazaar supported by the provision of 40 food stalls. The company also supported the strengthening of the Kupang MSME Sunday Market as a local creative economy hub.

The Satyaraga Jasindo programme encourages community engagement and increases protection literacy at the grassroots level.

“Our vision is to build Asuransi Jasindo’s positioning as a pioneering insurer that is adaptive to social and environmental issues, through communication that prioritises transparency, risk literacy, and sustainable impact,” said Brellian. He added that the company will continue to expand the reach of its ESG programme as part of its sustainable business strategy and strengthen collaboration with various stakeholders.
