Jasindo settles Rp6.93 billion claim for sunken ship in Sunda Strait

Jasindo Insurance has settled a Rp6.93 billion claim for Grup Sungai Budi following the sinking of vessel BSP VII in the Sunda Strait. The payment was made during the company’s management visit to Bandar Lampung.

Ocke Kurniandy, Director of Operations at Jasindo Insurance, stated that the claim settlement was to ensure the company fulfils its obligations to the insured as per regulations.

“Through this claim payment, we aim to ensure each partner receives optimal support in managing business risks. We hope this step helps maintain operational stability and strengthens trust and existing collaborations,” Ocke said in a press release on Monday, 1 June 2026.

In addition to the claim settlement, Jasindo provided safety helmets to Grup Sungai Budi’s operational team to support workplace safety on-site.

Ocke said the company does not solely focus on claim settlements but also on the operational continuity of its partners.

He added that this approach involves strengthening the company’s role in risk management, including guidance and support for operational safety aspects.

“The trust given by partners is crucial for Jasindo Insurance to continue growing and developing. We hope our positive relationship with Grup Sungai Budi will continue through mutually supportive and sustainable collaboration,” he said.

Jasindo stated it will continue to strengthen its services as a risk management partner for insured parties through collaborative approaches, from risk protection to on-site operational support.

Ocke added that the company’s role extends beyond risk events, supporting partners’ business continuity through structured risk management.
