Jasindo reminds of the importance of travel protection after Eid return journey
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Asuransi Jasindo is reminding the public of the importance of travel protection amid high mobility and potential road risks during the peak Eid return flow in 2026.
“After participating in the ‘Mudik Nyaman Bersama BUMN’ programme with the Indonesia Financial Group (IFG) Group, Asuransi Jasindo assesses that travel protection remains crucial, not only during the outbound journey but also during the return,” said Asuransi Jasindo’s Corporate Secretary Brellian Gema Widayana in an official statement in Jakarta on Thursday.
The company conveyed that the return flow phase has different risk characteristics, particularly due to the travellers’ physical condition tending to decline after long journeys.
Factors such as fatigue, decreased concentration, and a surge in vehicle volume are seen as a combination that needs to be anticipated seriously.
“In this condition, insurance protection becomes important to provide peace of mind during the journey,” Brellian stated.
Based on data from the National Traffic Police Corps (Korlantas Polri), the Eid outbound and return periods consistently rank as one of the moments with the highest traffic accident rates in a year, dominated by human error factors such as fatigue and lack of vigilance.
“As part of efforts to mitigate such risks, in the joint mudik programme, Asuransi Jasindo along with IFG Group entities provided personal accident protection with coverage up to Rp 100 million, encompassing risks of death, permanent total disability, as well as treatment and medical costs due to accidents,” he revealed.
According to Brellian, the return flow momentum serves as a reminder that public awareness of the importance of travel insurance still needs to be continuously strengthened, especially amid high seasonal mobility like Eid.
Going forward, he continued, Asuransi Jasindo will continue to promote increased insurance literacy while presenting relevant and easily accessible protection solutions for the public.
“Insurance should be part of travel planning, not just an additional option. With adequate protection, the public can travel more calmly amid various potential risks,” he said.
