Jasindo Prevents Stunting in Children and Educates Pregnant Women in NTT
Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia (Jasindo) is contributing to the prevention of stunting by providing nutritional education and support for pregnant women and children in the Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) region through the Narasemesta programme. Jasindo’s Director of Human Resources and General Affairs, Dewi Utari, stated that the programme forms part of the company’s commitment to supporting sustainable development, particularly in the area of public health. “Stunting is not merely a health issue, but also concerns the future of the nation’s generation,” said Utari in a statement in Jakarta on Saturday. She conveyed the company’s commitment to improving the quality of life for the community through the Narasemesta programme, which focuses on preventing stunting in children and educating pregnant women in Desa Tetaf, South Central Timor Regency. The programme adopts the theme “Prevent Stunting through Creating a Healthy Generation & Nutritional Food Education”, with an educational, preventive, and community empowerment approach. “Through Narasemesta, we aim to be closer to the community by providing education, nutritional support, and encouraging food self-sufficiency, so that prevention efforts can be carried out sustainably,” Utari remarked. Around 150 participants, consisting of pregnant women, mothers with children aged 1,000 days of life, mothers with toddlers, prospective teenage brides, and the general public, were involved in the programme. In addition to education, the company also distributed nutritious food aid such as rice, eggs, and corn biscuits, as well as support for protein self-sufficiency in the form of 150 pullet chickens complete with feed and equipment. To strengthen health services, Utari said the company also provided health equipment aid such as digital baby scales, infantometers, and stadiometers. Utari added that the selection of Desa Tetaf was based on the high risk of stunting and limited access to nutritious food and health services. “We want to ensure that the interventions carried out are not only short-term, but can create real and sustainable changes in the community,” Utari added. According to her, successful stunting prevention requires collaboration among various parties. With synergy between the company, health workers, and the community, stunting prevention efforts are believed to be more effective. “Jasindo is committed to continuing to be present and providing real contributions in creating a healthier and higher-quality Indonesian generation,” said Utari.
