The government has disbursed a state asset insurance claim payment of Rp17.6 billion to support the recovery of Ministry of Religious Affairs assets damaged by disasters in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra in 2025. This payment marks the first claim under the State Asset Insurance scheme funded by the Disaster Pooling Fund.

The claim handover took place during the 2026 Implementation of State Asset Insurance with Disaster Pooling Fund ceremony, organised by the Directorate General of State Assets at the Ministry of Finance in Jakarta on Monday. The payment was delivered by PT Asuransi Jasa Indonesia (Persero), or Jasindo, as Chair of the State Asset Insurance Consortium, to the Environmental Fund Management Agency for the insured assets belonging to the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Director General of State Assets at the Ministry of Finance, Evita Manthovani, stated that Indonesia’s high disaster risk level makes protecting state assets a crucial part of fiscal risk management. She emphasised that state asset insurance is not merely a regulatory requirement but a vital effort to strengthen national fiscal resilience by accelerating the recovery of government assets affected by disasters.

Jasindo’s Operational Director, Ocke Kurniandi, noted that the claim payment demonstrates how a risk transfer mechanism can assist the government in speeding up the recovery of state assets, ensuring that public services continue uninterrupted. He affirmed the consortium’s commitment to ensuring optimal protection for strategic government assets.

The claim payment follows damage that occurred between 25 and 30 November 2025, involving Ministry of Religious Affairs buildings in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. The State Asset Insurance programme, operating through the Disaster Pooling Fund scheme, is part of the government’s effort to strengthen fiscal risk management and enhance the resilience of state assets against disasters. This programme, part of the Disaster Risk Finance and Insurance strategy, has been implemented since 2019. The total insured value of state assets has risen significantly, from Rp10.73 trillion during the pilot phase in 2019 to Rp92.22 trillion in 2025. For the 2026 implementation, the government is providing protection for 20,842 state assets with a total insured value of Rp29.19 trillion, covering educational buildings belonging to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, health facilities of the Ministry of Health, and office buildings of the Ministry of State Secretariat.
