BEKASI — PT Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek (JJC), operator of the Mohamed Bin Zayed (MBZ) Toll Road, has urged drivers to adjust their travel times to avoid congestion during the extended Idul Adha holiday period.

General Manager of Operations and Maintenance Desti Anggraeni said, “Drivers are advised to plan their journeys carefully due to high vehicle volumes, especially as the long holiday period draws to a close,” in Bekasi on Friday.

The company projects continued traffic surges until early next week as the holiday period ends and normal activities resume, including on the MBZ Toll Road section.

She emphasised the importance of timing travel to avoid peak traffic congestion expected to reach peak levels this weekend through next Monday.

Drivers are also urged to prioritise safety by preparing before travelling, ensuring both vehicle and driver are in optimal condition, checking fuel or battery charge levels, and adhering to traffic signs and officer instructions during congestion.

Desti noted that traffic from Jakarta to Cikampek via MBZ has been rising since H-1 to H+1 of the 1447 AH Idul Adha holiday, totalling 104,108 vehicles — a 56.72% increase from the normal 66,429.

“On H+1, Thursday (28 May), 27,723 vehicles left Jakarta heading east, a 17.53% rise from the normal 23,588,” she said.

Similarly, traffic heading towards Jakarta from Cikampek reached 31,754 vehicles — a 45.46% increase from the daily normal of 21,830.

Overall, from H-1 to H+1, 77,187 vehicles were recorded returning to Jakarta via the MBZ Toll Road — an 18.27% increase from the normal 65,264, indicating the start of the Idul Adha return flow.
