Jasamarga strengthens return flow services on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road
Karawang (ANTARA) - Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) is strengthening its service readiness to face the Lebaran return flow period, particularly on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road as the main gateway for vehicle movement from the eastern Trans Java region towards Jakarta. Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated in Karawang, West Java, on Monday that based on recent traffic data, the return flow movement is beginning to show an increase. On Shift 1 this Monday, 12,624 vehicles were recorded passing through the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road from the eastern Trans Java direction towards Jakarta via the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate. That number increased by 49.75 percent compared to normal traffic of 8,442 vehicles. She said that JTT has prepared various strategic steps to ensure the smooth flow of the Lebaran return traffic. “JTT continues to coordinate intensively with the police and related stakeholders to ensure that traffic engineering decisions are made quickly and accurately according to field conditions. In addition, we are also optimising operational services and preparing personnel at all crucial points along the Trans Java route,” she said. At the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate, JTT is operating 22 toll booths towards Jakarta to anticipate the increase in vehicle volume during the return flow. In addition, JTT is also preparing the operation of GT Cikampek Utama 8 as an additional access to accommodate vehicles from Java towards Jakarta. These steps are expected to distribute vehicle flow more evenly and minimise the potential for queues at the toll gates. To support the smooth return flow, JTT together with the police will also implement situational traffic engineering such as contraflow or one-way, adjusted to the traffic dynamics on the ground. JTT urges all toll road users to plan their journeys well, avoid peak times, and ensure vehicles are in prime condition and roadworthy. Road users are also expected to ensure sufficient fuel, electronic money balance, and to utilise rest areas wisely. In addition, road users are asked to always obey traffic signs and instructions from officers on the ground for collective safety.
