Jasamarga Reports Dominant Return Traffic to Jabodetabek During Idul Adha Holiday
Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad Regional Division (JMT) recorded that traffic flowing towards Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) dominated movement on several metropolitan toll roads on Friday (29 May).
Increased vehicle volumes were observed via access from West Java, the Puncak Bogor area, and Merak heading towards Jakarta. Meanwhile, traffic towards Bandung, Rancaekek, Garut, and surrounding areas remained stable compared to normal conditions.
Senior General Manager of JMT, Widiyatmiko Nursejati, detailed in a statement on Saturday in Jakarta that return traffic to Jabodetabek remained dominant during the extended Idul Adha 1447H/2026 holiday period.
“98,231 vehicles returned to Jabodetabek via Cikupa Toll Gate (GT) towards Jakarta, Ciawi 2 GT, and Cikunir 6 GT, marking an 11.42% increase compared to the normal traffic volume of 88,165 vehicles,” said Widiyatmiko.
The highest increase was recorded at Cikunir 6 GT with 12,053 vehicles, a 56.78% rise from the normal volume of 7,688 vehicles.
Ciawi 2 GT recorded 38,127 vehicles, an 11.39% increase from the normal volume of 34,228 vehicles.
Vehicles returning to Jakarta from Merak via Cikupa GT towards Jakarta totalled 48,051 vehicles, a 3.90% increase from the normal volume of 46,249 vehicles.
A total of 63,940 vehicles passed towards Jakarta via Cileunyi Entrance and Pasteur Entrance toll gates, a 6.85% increase from the normal volume of 59,840 vehicles.
The largest traffic volume increase was at Cileunyi Entrance with 32,755 vehicles, a 14.61% rise from the normal volume of 28,579 vehicles.
At Pasteur Entrance, 31,185 vehicles were recorded, a negligible 0.24% decrease compared to the normal volume of 31,261 vehicles.
Meanwhile, traffic through Cileunyi Exit towards Rancaekek, Garut, and surrounding areas totalled 38,176 vehicles, a 0.88% increase from the normal volume of 37,844 vehicles.
At Pasteur Exit towards Bandung, 36,853 vehicles were recorded, a 0.08% increase from the normal volume of 36,824 vehicles.
Travelers heading to Bandung and surrounding areas can utilise Temporary Information Points (TIPs) at KM 72, KM 88, and KM 147 on the Cipularang and Padaleunyi toll roads, while those heading to the Puncak area via the Jagorawi Toll Road can use TIPs at KM 10, KM 35, and KM 45.
Free facilities at these TIPs include toilets, parking areas, and prayer rooms, along with food stalls and other travel necessities.
Jasamarga urged all road users to prepare their journeys by ensuring vehicles and drivers are in optimal condition, checking fuel and e-money balances before entering toll roads.
Drivers were also advised to anticipate congestion at toll gate points and strictly adhere to traffic signs and on-site officers’ instructions.
