Medan, North Sumatra - PT Jasamarga Nusantara Tollroad Regional Division (JNT/Regional Nusantara) recorded 136,210 vehicles crossing the Medan-Kualanamu-Tebing Tinggi (MKTT) toll road ahead of Eid al-Fitr 2026. Senior General Manager of JNT Regional Division, Tyas Pramoda Wardhani, stated that the figure covers the period from 11 to 18 March 2026. “Traffic volume on the MKTT toll road increased by 13.16% compared to normal conditions,” Tyas said in an official statement received in Medan, North Sumatra, on Thursday. Tyas noted that of the total traffic volume, 43,942 vehicles departed from Medan city via the Amplas Toll Gate. Meanwhile, the company recorded 138,751 vehicles exiting Kualanamu Airport and 47,118 vehicles heading towards Kualanamu Airport. Tyas added that traffic volume exiting Kualanamu Airport rose by 17.29%, while that heading towards the airport increased by 17.44%. Overall, Tyas stated that traffic volume across the five toll sections under Regional Nusantara for the same period also saw an increase, recording 1,506,134 vehicles. “This figure represents a 3.34% rise compared to normal conditions,” she said. In preparation for Eid al-Fitr 2026, she emphasised that the company has undertaken various measures to ensure toll road users travel safely and comfortably. The company has added operational toll booths to speed up transactions, provided mobile readers, and increased electronic money top-up points to facilitate users. Additionally, personnel have been deployed to identify potential security and public order hotspots, posts have been set up, and all Sisinfokom facilities, particularly closed-circuit television (CCTV) functions for lanes and toll gate queues, have been prepared at 100% capacity. Jasamarga urged toll road users to anticipate the long holiday travel period for the religious holiday properly. Before entering the toll road, she said, ensure the vehicle and driver are in prime condition, verify sufficient fuel and electronic money balance, and comply with signs and instructions from on-site officers.
