Jasamarga prepares 26 toll gates at Cikatama toll gate to anticipate return traffic
Karawang (ANTARA) - PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol is preparing as many as 26 toll gates at Gerbang Tol (GT) Cikampek Utama (Cikatama) in Karawang, West Java, heading towards Jakarta, particularly to welcome the peak of the Eid al-Fitr 2026 return traffic, which is predicted to start today.
Deputy Director of Corporate Secretariat and Legal at PT Jasa Marga Trans Jawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paalo, said when met in Karawang on Tuesday that 22 toll gates at GT Cikatama have been operated, and the number can increase to 26 depending on the situation, especially ahead of the implementation of the national one-way system that applies starting Tuesday.
“We are still monitoring the situation on whether it will become 26 gates because the national one-way will soon apply. Situationally from 22 to 26 (toll gates),” said Ria.
“So every shift we have prepared 17 mobile readers, which are useful for picking up the ball when the transaction queue is already quite long; later there will definitely be our officers ready in the field,” Ria added.
The implementation of the one-way route for the Eid al-Fitr 2026 return traffic on a national scale is enforced at the discretion of the Indonesian National Police, from KM 414 Gerbang Tol (GT) Kalikangkung on the Batang-Semarang toll road to KM 70 on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road, which will be opened coinciding with the peak return traffic estimated to occur on Tuesday today.
Ria added that Jasa Marga projects 24 March as the highest peak of return traffic. Road users are also urged to estimate travel time, such as by checking traffic conditions on Jasa Marga Group toll roads via the Travoy application.
“28 March is also projected to be high, but the highest is still 24 March today,” she said.
Transport Minister (Menhub) Dudy Purwagandhi has urged Eid travellers to avoid the peak Eid al-Fitr 2026 return traffic, which falls on 24, 28, and 29 March 2026.
