Jasamarga operates 22 toll gates at Cikampek Utama during peak homecoming rush

Karawang, West Java (ANTARA) - PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol is operating 22 toll gates (GT) at Cikampek Utama, Karawang, West Java, to smooth traffic during the peak Lebaran homecoming flow, predicted for Wednesday. During the one-way traffic arrangement, the dozens of gates operated for the homecoming flow include four that are normally used for exiting GT Cikampek Utama or towards Jakarta during normal traffic. At those four gates, staff are using mobile reader (MR) devices for the transaction system. “So all 22 gates are now operational to accommodate traffic volume from west to east across Trans Java,” said Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, when interviewed at GT Cikampek Utama on Wednesday. She explained that operating the dozens of gates, including those with MR devices, is intended to speed up queues at the toll gates. In addition to the one-way system, according to her, the toll operator has also implemented contra-flow arrangements since kilometre 36, which is still in the Bekasi area. She stated that the contra-flow is adjusted to the traffic conditions from Jakarta. Although the peak homecoming flow is predicted for Wednesday, according to her, they will continue to monitor the situation’s developments. “Even if tomorrow there is still an increase in volume detected, we will continue to optimise all gates,” she said.
