Jasamarga Implements Contraflow on Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road

PT JASAMARGA Transjawa Tol (JTT) has implemented contraflow traffic management, in which vehicles travel against the normal direction of flow, on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road towards Cikampek from KM 14 to KM 21, effective from 11.04am Western Indonesia Time, at the discretion of the police.

“The contraflow is being applied situationally, taking into account traffic conditions on the ground,” said Dary Achmad Budi, Acting Corporate Secretary & Legal of Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, in Bekasi on Thursday, 9 July, as quoted by Antara.

Dary explained that the traffic management measure is an effort to keep journeys smooth for road users whilst dispersing vehicle congestion on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road.

Jasamarga, together with the police, will continue to monitor traffic conditions and carry out periodic evaluations of the implementation of the scheme.

Jasamarga apologised for any potential inconvenience that may arise from the contraflow arrangement, and called on road users to prepare for their journeys.

Road users are asked to observe speed limits when passing through the contraflow section, ensure their vehicles are in good condition, check that they have sufficient balance on their electronic money cards, and obey traffic signs and the instructions of officers in the field.
