Jasamarga halts contraflow on Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road on Good Friday afternoon

Karawang (ANTARA) - Officers from PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) along with police halted the contraflow (counterflow) traffic engineering from KM 47 to KM 66 towards Cikampek on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road on Friday afternoon.

Vice President of Corporate Secretary & Legal at PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated in Karawang, West Java, on Friday that the contraflow halt was carried out in line with traffic conditions gradually returning to normal during the Good Friday holiday period.

The contraflow traffic engineering had previously been applied from KM 47 to KM 66 towards Cikampek on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road at 09:18 WIB. The contraflow was then stopped at 13:27 WIB after traffic flow was observed to be smooth.

Ria Marlinda Paallo stated that this normalisation or contraflow halt resulted from intensive field monitoring of traffic conditions.

With vehicle volume beginning to distribute well, the contraflow was halted and traffic resumed normal operations to ensure the comfort of road users.

She mentioned that the contraflow traffic engineering was applied at the discretion of the police.

JTT continues to urge road users to always prioritise safety while driving, maintain safe distances, and comply with signs and instructions from officers on the ground.

Road users are also expected to ensure sufficient e-money balance and that their vehicles are in prime condition before undertaking journeys.
