Bekasi Regency (ANTARA) - PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) is conducting socialisation and education activities for drivers of ‘Over Dimension Over Loading’ (ODOL) vehicles at the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, Km 29 A towards Cikampek, as an effort to improve driving safety.

“This activity is scheduled to take place over two days, starting today and tomorrow, between 08:00 and 11:00 WIB, involving officers from the Police and the Bekasi Regency Transportation Agency,” said the Acting Vice President of Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT JTT, Dary Achmad Budi, in Cikarang on Wednesday.

He explained that this socialisation and education effort is a joint endeavour to improve traffic safety while supporting the realisation of freight transport that complies with vehicle dimension and load regulations.

Similar activities are in line with various educational operations currently being conducted on several stretches of toll roads across Indonesia, prioritising an educational approach towards freight vehicle drivers.

“Through this activity, we are providing understanding to drivers regarding the importance of complying with vehicle dimension and load regulations,” he said.

During the implementation, joint officers are conducting inspections of freight vehicles indicated to be ODOL through a weighing process to determine the actual weight of the vehicles.

The results of these inspections serve as an educational tool for drivers regarding the negative impacts of ODOL vehicles on both traffic safety and the reliability of road infrastructure.

Through this initiative, drivers are also reminded to consistently adhere to vehicle dimension and load regulations and to ensure that vehicle conditions meet technical requirements and roadworthiness before operating.

According to him, vehicles operating in accordance with regulations not only improve safety for road users but also help maintain the quality of toll road infrastructure so that it remains reliable in serving public mobility.

His party appreciates the synergy of all stakeholders in supporting the creation of a safe, orderly, and secure traffic culture. Through continuous education, it is hoped that the awareness of freight transport actors regarding the dangers of ODOL vehicles will increase.

“In this way, we can realise safer journeys, maintain the reliability of toll road infrastructure, and support the smooth distribution of national logistics,” he said.

Dary also urged all road users, particularly freight drivers, to always ensure their vehicles are in roadworthy condition, comply with established dimension and load limits, and follow the directions of officers in the field for collective safety.
