Jasamarga deploys motorist officers on MBZ expressway ahead of Eid exodus
PT Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek (JJC) has deployed specialist “motorist” officers on the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed (MBZ) expressway to enhance operational readiness ahead of the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri holiday travel period.
“The presence of these motorists represents the company’s effort to ensure traffic services remain optimal during the period of increased public mobility,” said Desti Anggraeni, General Manager of Operations and Maintenance at PT JJC, in Bekasi, West Java, on Wednesday.
The officers are stationed to support field operations, particularly during heavy traffic conditions that may obstruct regular patrol vehicle mobility. Using motorcycle fleets, the officers can reach incident locations more quickly, enabling responsive handling.
The motorist officers perform several key functions: assisting motorists who have run out of fuel on the expressway, managing traffic flow during congestion, responding to traffic incidents including accidents, vehicle breakdowns, and minor fires. They serve as first responders during congestion when patrol vehicles cannot quickly access locations, providing initial scene security and assistance to motorists until other operational staff arrive.
PT JJC remains committed to delivering safe, fast, and responsive operational services to all expressway users, particularly during the Eid holiday travel period. The company urges motorists to prioritise safety and maintain their vehicles in good condition, ensure adequate fuel and electrical charge, and anticipate weather changes, particularly rain, which can affect visibility and road conditions.
Motorists can access real-time information and request traffic assistance through the Jasa Marga Group 24-hour call centre at 133, via Twitter @PTJASAMARGA, or through the Travoy 4.5 application for iOS and Android users.
