Jasamarga continues situational contraflow on Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road
PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) is continuing situational contraflow traffic engineering on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road to maintain smooth traffic flow amid ongoing road maintenance activities on that section. VP Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated in Karawang, West Java, on Friday that the contraflow is being applied at the discretion of the police. She said the contraflow is implemented from KM 23 to KM 28 towards Cikampek on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road since 06:56 WIB. The traffic engineering is a proactive measure to maintain smooth vehicle flow amid rising traffic volume and to support the ongoing road maintenance work at KM 28+175 towards Cikampek, which has been underway since Thursday (7/5). According to her, the implementation of contraflow is done situationally based on coordination and police discretion to ensure that road user mobility remains maintained. This contraflow implementation is a form of traffic engineering to support smooth vehicle flow while assisting the road maintenance work on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, which is currently ongoing. “Based on the evaluation of traffic conditions and the progress of work in the field since yesterday, the contraflow traffic engineering is being reimplemented earlier today as a proactive step to keep vehicle flow distribution smooth from the morning,” she said. She conveyed that JTT continues to conduct periodic evaluations of traffic conditions and the progress of road maintenance work, and will provide ongoing updates to road users. This is done so that the maintenance work can proceed optimally while still prioritising aspects of safety, security, and comfort for road users. In addition to traffic management, JTT is also optimising monitoring of traffic conditions via CCTV and deploying field officers to ensure that the traffic engineering runs well and continues to pay attention to road user safety aspects. Jasamarga apologises for any inconvenience experienced during the road handling and traffic engineering implementation. JTT also appreciates the patience and understanding of road users in supporting smooth traffic on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road section. JTT urges road users to anticipate their journeys, ensure vehicles are roadworthy, comply with signs and officer instructions, and ensure sufficient electronic money balance before entering the toll road.
