Jasamarga adjusts traffic engineering on Japek Toll Road
Karawang (ANTARA) - PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) together with the police have carried out adjustments to traffic engineering on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road (Japek) to anticipate the high volume of vehicles during the Eid al-Fitr return flow. Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT JTT, Ria Marlinda Paallo, in her statement in Karawang, West Java, on Friday, conveyed that the traffic engineering adjustment was carried out by adding a contraflow lane on the Japek Toll Road towards Jakarta. At the discretion of the police, the contraflow traffic engineering on the Japek Toll Road, which was previously implemented with one lane, has been increased to two lanes in the segment from KM 70 to KM 47 towards Jakarta at 18.05 WIB. This traffic engineering adjustment was carried out to maintain the smooth flow of the Eid al-Fitr return following the high traffic volume from the Trans Java direction towards Jakarta. In addition, situational traffic diversion is also being carried out by directing some vehicles to exit through the Karawang Barat Toll Gate (GT) KM 47 towards Cikampek on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road. These measures aim to reduce density on the main route and accelerate vehicle distribution. “JTT together with the police continue to conduct intensive monitoring and make situational traffic engineering adjustments to ensure the return flow runs smoothly and safely,” she said. JTT has also deployed operational personnel in the field to manage traffic, assist road users, and ensure the safety and comfort of the journey. Traffic condition monitoring is carried out in real time through CCTV integrated with the information control centre. JTT urges all road users to plan their travel time well, comply with signs and instructions from officers in the field, and ensure vehicles are in prime condition with sufficient electronic money balance before travelling. JTT also apologises for any inconvenience that may arise due to the traffic engineering adjustments.
