Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Jasa Raharja is exploring the utilisation of its company-owned building assets in the Jakarta Old Town area to support the development of cultural spaces in the form of a museum through cross-sector collaboration. Jasa Raharja President Director Muhammad Awaluddin stated that the building located in the Kali Besar area possesses historical value as well as potential to be developed into a productive public space. “This building is not only a company asset but also part of the historical heritage that needs to be preserved and utilised productively,” said Awaluddin based on his statement in Jakarta on Friday. According to him, the utilisation of this asset is expected to provide added value not only for the company but also for the community through strengthening educational and cultural functions in the Old Town area. “We welcome this collaboration plan as an effort to present cultural spaces that are beneficial for the community,” he said. Jasa Raharja Director of Human Resources and General Affairs Rubi Handojo added that the Kali Besar area has historical value as a centre of trading and governance activities in the past. He stated that developing the area as a cultural destination is expected to strengthen the attractiveness of Jakarta’s Old Town as a historical and educational tourism destination. According to him, the utilisation of historical assets owned by state-owned enterprises (BUMN) can be optimised into educational public spaces while supporting the development of history-based tourism destinations. Through this collaboration, the museum is expected to present a narrative of the journey of Indonesian film and photography from time to time, including works and visual documentation owned.
