Jasa Raharja Delivers Compensation to Heirs of Train Accident Victims

Compensation for victim Adelia Rifani was handed directly by Jasa Raharja’s President Director, Muhammad Awaluddin, to the victim’s father, Haerusli, as the rightful heir, on Tuesday (28/4/2026). Meanwhile, compensation for victim Nurlaela was given to her husband, Haris Rusman. Compensation for victim Ristuti Kustirahayu was delivered to her husband, Suyatno. Compensation for victim Enggar Retno K. was handed to her husband.

Muhammad Awaluddin stated that the compensation represents a tangible form of the state’s presence in providing basic protection to the public, in line with the mandate of Law No. 33 of 1964.

“We ensure that all victims’ rights are settled quickly and accurately. This is a manifestation of our commitment that the state is present to provide protection to the community,” he said.

He emphasised that the speed of compensation delivery is the top priority, from the victim data collection process, heir verification, to the disbursement of funds.

“We strive for the compensation to be received by the heirs as soon as possible, so it can ease the burden on the bereaved families,” he explained.

Based on data up to Tuesday at 6:00 PM WIB, the total number of victims in the accident reached 103 people, consisting of 15 fatalities and 88 injuries. Of the total fatalities, compensation for 4 victims has been paid, while the remaining 11 are still in the identification and survey process.

Each heir of the deceased victims receives compensation from Jasa Raharja amounting to Rp 50 million. In addition, through cooperation between KAI and Jasaraharja Putera, there is an additional compensation of Rp 40 million.

“For injured victims, Jasa Raharja guarantees treatment costs up to a maximum of Rp 20 million, as well as additional coverage from Jasaraharja Putera up to Rp 30 million,” he concluded.
