Jasa Raharja and PMI Integrate Ambulance Systems to Village Level to Reduce Accident Fatalities
PT Jasa Raharja and the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) are maturing a strategic synergy to build an integrated emergency response system for traffic accident victims. The collaboration is designed to accelerate the provision of first aid from the earliest minutes after an incident in order to reduce the fatality rate on the roads. This step was initiated through a first meeting at the Jasa Raharja Akhlak Meeting Room in Jakarta on Thursday (9/7/2026), followed by the refinement of a draft Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at PMI Headquarters on Monday (13/7/2026). Jasa Raharja President Director Muhammad Awaluddin explained that the partnership with PMI represents a major step to strengthen the road safety ecosystem. Jasa Raharja wants to expand its role beyond post-accident compensation to active involvement in emergency medical response. As an initial step, both institutions agreed to launch a pilot project in several regions with relatively high traffic accident rates. In this programme, PMI will strengthen Jasa Raharja’s digital emergency ecosystem by deploying its volunteer network, evacuation capabilities, and ambulance fleet spread across various parts of Indonesia. The programme will also implement an educational concept involving laypeople near accident-prone routes, equipping them with basic skills to provide first aid before medical personnel arrive. PMI Central Board Head of Health and Social Affairs Fachmi Idris welcomed the initiative, assessing that Jasa Raharja’s data superiority and basic protection system would be very powerful when combined with PMI’s rapid humanitarian logistics response capacity. The maturing cooperation process at PMI Headquarters was directly reviewed by PMI Chairman Jusuf Kalla, who gave his full support to this humanitarian integration. The draft Cooperation Agreement currently being prepared covers a broad scope, ranging from emergency service integration and motor vehicle administration compliance education to human resource competency improvement, disaster preparedness, and accountable data protection governance.
