Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jasa Marga is urging toll road users to use only one identical electronic money (e-Toll) card for payments on toll roads. Jasa Marga is also advising users to employ the same single electronic card for payments on toll roads with closed transaction systems, such as the Cipularang and Padaleunyi sections and the JORR II Toll Road. β€œThe same electronic card must be used for transactions when tapping at the entry toll gate and also when tapping at the exit toll gate,” stated Senior General Manager of Jasamarga Metropolitan, Widiyatmiko Nursejati, in his remarks in Jakarta on Thursday. The public is also urged to prepare themselves before travelling by ensuring the vehicle is roadworthy, the driver is in prime condition, paying attention to sufficient fuel and e-Toll balance for a comfortable journey. On H-3 of the Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah holiday, falling on Wednesday (18/3), the Jasamarga Metropolitan Tollroad Regional Division (JMT) recorded the volume of traffic leaving Jabodetabek towards Merak and towards Puncak Bogor and surrounding areas, distributed through Cikupa Toll Gate (GT) and GT Ciawi 1, totalling 94,561 vehicles. This figure represents an increase of 16.54 percent compared to normal transaction volumes of 81,140 vehicles. The transaction traffic volume at GT Cikupa towards Merak experienced an increase, with 49,913 vehicles passing through, or up 4.32 percent from normal transaction traffic of 47,847 vehicles. The increase in transaction traffic volume at GT Ciawi 1 towards Puncak Bogor was recorded at 44,648 vehicles. This number rose 34.11 percent from normal transaction traffic of 33,293 vehicles. Meanwhile, in the West Java region, there has not yet been an increase in traffic volume towards Bandung or Rancaekek and surroundings. A total of 76,460 vehicles passed through, or up 15.26 percent from normal transaction traffic volumes of 66,336 vehicles. The number of vehicles leaving Bandung and Rancaekek towards Jakarta through the same toll gates was recorded at 56,257 vehicles, or down 2.16 percent from normal conditions of 57,499 vehicles. An estimated 44,852 vehicles headed towards the Rancaekek, Garut, and surrounding areas through GT Cileunyi. The transaction traffic volume at that GT rose 37.87 percent from normal traffic of 32,533 vehicles. The return transaction traffic volume heading to Jakarta through GT Cileunyi was recorded at 29,584 vehicles, or up 2.96 percent from normal traffic of 28,734 vehicles. Meanwhile, the transaction traffic volume heading to Bandung city through GT Pasteur was recorded at 31,608 vehicles, or down 6.49 percent from normal traffic of 33,803 vehicles. The GT Pasteur transaction volume leaving Bandung city towards Jakarta was recorded at 26,673 vehicles, or down 7.27 percent from normal traffic of 28,765 vehicles. Vehicle volumes in the Bandung and Jabodetabek regions are predicted to continue increasing on the day of Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah, as the public undertakes tourist trips and family visits.
