The government, together with Jasa Marga, urges returnees to rearrange their return schedules to avoid severe congestion at the peak of the Eid return flow in 2026. One strategy offered is a 30% toll fare discount that will apply on 26-27 March 2026.

This appeal was conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture (Menko PMK) Pratikno, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi during an inspection of return flow readiness at the Jasamarga Tollroad Command Centre (JMTC) on Wednesday (25/3/2026).

Jasa Marga President Director Rivan A. Purwantono explained that this fare incentive aims to break up vehicle density, which is predicted to peak at the end of this weekend.

“We once again remind the public to take advantage of the toll discount on 26-27 March and use the Travoy application to plan their journeys better. Our main focus now is to anticipate the peak return flow on 28-29 March 2026,” said Rivan.

Jasa Marga data records that the outbound flow on 18 March 2026 reached the highest figure in history with a volume of 270,000 vehicles. To prevent similar build-ups during the return flow, Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi advised the public not to return simultaneously on Saturday and Sunday.

“We hope the public can utilise the Work From Anywhere (WFA) policy as well as the 30% toll discount. With earlier returns, density at the peak return flow can be alleviated,” said Dudy.

He also emphasised that goods vehicles with three or more axles must continue to comply with operational restrictions in effect until 29 March as per the Joint Ministerial Decree (SKB).

On the security side, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo assured that his side continues to monitor volume per capacity ratio (VCR) indicators in real-time to determine when one-way or contraflow engineering will be implemented.

“We urge those who have not yet returned to take advantage of the remaining travel time (through the toll discount) so that the peak return flow can be dispersed. Safety remains the priority; do not force yourself if tired and rest immediately at a rest area,” stressed the National Police Chief (H-3).

Jasa Marga predicts the peak return flow on 29 March will reach 250,000 vehicles. Returnees are urged to return earlier to enjoy the 30% toll discount.

The peak Eid return flow in 2026 is predicted for 28-29 March. The government urges the public to avoid those dates and utilise the 30% toll discount.

PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) is anticipating a surge in vehicles during the 2026 Eid return flow by implementing a toll fare discount of up to 30%.

Jasa Marga projects the peak return flow on 29 March to reach 250,000 vehicles. Returnees are urged to return earlier to enjoy the 30% toll discount.

The 2026 Eid return flow is predicted to increase. Jasa Marga projects 285,000 vehicles to Jakarta; the government urges scheduling travel times.

That number is the accumulation of vehicles exiting through four main toll gates (GT), namely GT Cikupa (westbound), GT Ciawi (southbound), and GT Cikampek Utama.

Jasa Marga records the highest outbound flow in history for Eid 2026 with a total of 270,315 vehicles. Check traffic engineering info and toll discount schedules here.
