Jasa Marga strengthens toll road reliability through sustainable preservation
PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk continues to strengthen the reliability of its toll road infrastructure through preservation works on a number of Jasa Marga Group sections to maintain pavement quality, while ensuring public connectivity and mobility remain safe and smooth.
Jasa Marga President Director Rivan A Purwantono said preservation is an important part of sustainable toll road asset management. Toll road infrastructure faces high traffic loads every day, so maintenance is needed to maintain quality and service life.
“Jasa Marga continues to carry out preservation works periodically as part of efforts to keep toll road quality in prime condition,” Rivan said in a statement received in Jakarta on Thursday.
Through its subsidiary, PT Jasamarga Tollroad Maintenance (JMTM), Jasa Marga carries out periodic preservation by adjusting to the condition and needs of each section, including patching, scrapping and filling (SF), and pavement reconstruction.
According to Rivan, infrastructure maintenance is not only related to road quality, but is also part of efforts to maintain safety and smooth travel for road users. Therefore, the implementation of works is designed by considering traffic conditions on each section.
The majority of preservation works are carried out at night until early morning when vehicle volumes are relatively lower. This step is taken to minimise the impact of works on public mobility.
In addition, lanes affected by works are equipped with warning signs and safety devices. Operational officers are also on standby 24 hours to ensure a rapid response in the event of an emergency in the field.
Preservation is currently being carried out on a number of Jasa Marga Group sections. On the Jakarta-Tangerang Toll Road, for example, works include pavement reconstruction and patching. Meanwhile, on the Dalam Kota Toll Road, SF and patching works are being carried out. On the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, works include patching, SF, and pavement reconstruction at several points according to field conditions.
Jasa Marga considers toll road maintenance to also play an important role in supporting economic activity. Reliable toll roads can help maintain smooth public mobility, as well as the distribution of goods and logistics between regions.
As a state-owned toll road infrastructure management company, Jasa Marga is committed to maintaining asset quality through planned and sustainable management. These efforts are expected to strengthen national connectivity, improve mobility efficiency, and support public productivity and economic activity.
On the other hand, Jasa Marga urges road users to support the smooth running of preservation works by paying attention to signs, maintaining a safe distance, obeying speed limits, and following the directions of officers in the field.
“We apologise for the inconvenience experienced by road users during the preservation works. We continue to strive to provide the best service through smooth, safe and comfortable toll road services. By placing customers at the centre of every service, we strive to minimise the impact on public travel through traffic management, the timing of works, and adequate safety measures at work sites,” Rivan added.
Road users can also monitor traffic information and work locations through the Travoy application or by contacting the Jasa Marga Call Centre at 133.
