Jasa Marga Records Increased Traffic Volume on Jabodetabek and West Java Toll Roads
Traffic volume leaving the Jabodetabek area towards Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Merak and Puncak, distributed through the Cengkareng, Cikupa and Ciawi 1 toll gates, totalled 175,132 vehicles, representing a 0.72 per cent increase compared to normal transaction volumes of 173,879 vehicles, according to Widiyatmiko Nursejati, Senior General Manager of Jasa Marga Metropolitan Tollroad Regional Division, in a statement issued in Jakarta on Saturday.
Traffic volume at the Cengkareng toll gate heading towards Soekarno-Hatta International Airport increased to 83,572 vehicles, up 1.20 per cent from normal transaction volumes of 82,577 vehicles.
Traffic at the Cikupa toll gate towards Merak rose to 55,520 vehicles, an increase of 6.88 per cent compared to normal transaction volumes of 51,944 vehicles.
The Ciawi 1 toll gate towards Puncak Bogor recorded 36,040 vehicles, which was 8.43 per cent lower than normal transaction volumes of 39,358 vehicles.
Meanwhile, in West Java, traffic volume towards Bandung and the Rancaekek area showed signs of increase, with a total of 76,107 vehicles passing through, representing a 1.93 per cent rise compared to normal transaction volumes of 74,668 vehicles, distributed through the Cileunyi and Pasteur toll gates.
A total of 38,728 vehicles were observed heading towards the Rancaekek, Garut and surrounding areas via the Cileunyi toll gate. Traffic volume at this toll gate increased by 2.34 per cent from normal levels of 37,844 vehicles.
Traffic heading towards Bandung or Jakarta via the Cileunyi toll gate was recorded at 32,645 vehicles, up 14.23 per cent compared to normal traffic volumes of 28,579 vehicles.
Traffic volume heading towards Bandung city via the Pasteur toll gate was recorded at 37,379 vehicles, an increase of 1.51 per cent compared to normal volumes of 36,824 vehicles, whilst traffic leaving Bandung towards Jakarta through the Pasteur toll gate was recorded at 30,999 vehicles, which was 0.84 per cent lower than normal volumes of 31,261 vehicles.
Jasa Marga has advised the public to prepare before travelling by ensuring their vehicles are in good working condition, drivers are in prime physical condition, and to maintain adequate fuel and e-toll balance for a comfortable journey.
Jasa Marga also advised road users to use only one e-toll card for payments on toll roads with closed transaction systems such as the Cipularang and Padaleunyi toll sections and the JORR II toll road, using the same e-toll card for transactions when tapping at the entry toll gate and when exiting at the exit toll gate.
