Jasa Marga Records Highest Outbound Traffic from Jakarta on H-3 Eid al-Fitr
Jakarta - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk recorded 135,772 vehicles exiting Jakarta through the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate heading east via the Trans-Java Toll Road on Wednesday, 18 March, or H-3 before Eid al-Fitr. Jasa Marga President Director Rivan A. Purwantono stated that this figure rose 401.73% compared to normal levels (27,061 vehicles) or increased 7.31% from the peak homecoming traffic during Eid 2025 (126,518 vehicles). He also expressed apologies for the inconvenience to road users affected by the density on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road on Wednesday (18/3), which was predicted from the start to be the peak of Eid homecoming traffic in 2026. There was also an increase at the traffic intersection point of the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road and the MBZ Elevated Road at KM 50 heading to the Trans-Java Toll Road towards Cikampek and the Cipularang Toll Road towards Bandung. The traffic volume at KM 50 reached 176,598 vehicles, up 8.46% from last year’s Eid homecoming peak,” said Rivan in his statement in Jakarta on Thursday. “This figure became this year’s homecoming peak with the highest traffic reaching 270,315 vehicles or 4.6% higher than last year’s homecoming peak of 258,383 vehicles,” Rivan added. In addition, there was an increase in vehicles entering the rest areas on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road. Based on the evaluation, the capacity of all rest areas was adequate, except at Rest Area KM 57A. During last year’s peak period, 14,000 vehicles were recorded entering Rest Area KM 57A. To ease the traffic density on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road towards Cikampek, based on police discretion, traffic engineering contraflow has been implemented from KM 47 to KM 70 towards Cikampek, expanding from two lanes to three lanes. “We also accelerated the handling of vehicle disruptions in the contraflow lane with monitoring by motorised officers to regulate vehicles stopping on the shoulder and contraflow lane,” said Rivan.
