The traffic volume has increased significantly by 49.15% compared to normal traffic of 89,231 vehicles.

“Meanwhile, based on daily traffic data on 23 March 2026, there were 75,837 vehicles from the eastern Trans-Java region, an increase of 197.66% from normal traffic of 25,478 vehicles,” said Corporate Secretary & Legal of Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Ria explained that the high traffic volume indicates that the return flow is still ongoing and is expected to continue increasing.

In line with this situation, JTT, together with the police, has implemented traffic engineering in the form of a national one-way system from KM 414 GT Kalikangkung on the Batang-Semarang Toll Road to KM 70 GT Cikampek Utama on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, continued with a local one-way from KM 459 Semarang-Solo Toll Road to KM 414 GT Kalikangkung, to maintain smooth vehicle flow and minimise potential congestion along the Trans-Java Toll Road sections,” Ria clarified.

To anticipate the increase in vehicle volume during the return flow, JTT is also providing travel alternatives through toll fare discounts.

A 30% discount is applied for continuous journeys from GT Kalikangkung on the Batang-Semarang Toll Road to GT Cikampek Utama on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road from 26 March 2026 at 00:00 WIB until 27 March 2026 at 24:00 WIB.

In addition, a 23% fare discount for all transactions on the Batang-Semarang Toll Road remains in effect from 12 to 31 March 2026. This policy is expected to help distribute traffic more evenly while providing benefits to road users.

Increased vehicle volume has also occurred on several toll road sections managed by the JTT Group in Central Java and East Java.

In Central Java, vehicles leaving Semarang via GT Kalikangkung totalled 101,774, up 112.03% from normal conditions. Meanwhile, vehicles heading to Semarang reached 99,866, an increase of 116.23%.

At GT Banyumanik, traffic to Jakarta totalled 117,451 vehicles, up 91.96%. Meanwhile, the direction to Solo reached 138,312 vehicles, an increase of 94.84% compared to normal conditions.

In East Java, vehicles heading to Jakarta via GT Warugunung totalled 105,746, up 85.13%, while the direction to Surabaya reached 105,950, an increase of 68.79%.

At GT Kejapanan Utama, 115,654 vehicles headed to Surabaya (up 44.90%) and 117,832 to Malang (up 57.93%).

Meanwhile, at GT Singosari, vehicles to Surabaya totalled 65,274 (up 51.65%), while the direction to Malang reached 61,873 (up 43.84%).

JTT urges Trans-Java toll road users to prioritise safety, plan their journeys well, ensure vehicle and driver conditions are optimal, and confirm sufficient fuel and electronic money (e-toll) balance before travelling.
