Karawang — PT Jasa Marga is providing access to closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras across its toll road network and a route-finder feature through its Travoy (Traffic Traveling) application to assist returning travellers during the holiday period.

Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasa Marga Trans Jawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paalo, announced the initiative to media at the Cikampek North Toll Gate on Sunday, stating that the application enables real-time monitoring of toll road conditions.

“It particularly helps road users to calculate travel time. The CCTV is already visible through the app as we have cameras positioned every 500 metres across Jasa Marga Group toll road sections,” said Ria.

The application also features a new “route finder” function that allows returning travellers to identify the fastest route along toll roads to reach their destinations, including the applicable toll charges.

“The route finder is a newly released feature that road users can utilise to estimate which toll gates they will pass through and how much they will need to pay, providing comprehensive information to road users,” Ria explained.

Earlier, PT Jasa Marga urged returning travellers on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road to avoid peak departure times when heading to their home towns.

“Typically, road users prefer to depart in the morning, between 6 a.m. and 4 p.m. We have been continuously urging travellers to choose off-peak times to avoid these preferred hours,” she said.

From ten days before Eid through to seven days before Eid, the Cikampek North Toll Gate processed 168,000 vehicles. This figure is considerably higher than the previous year.

“Just today, until the end of the first shift (04.30-12.30 Western Indonesian Time), the Cikampek North Toll Gate was traversed by 23,000 vehicles. This is already 100 per cent above normal levels,” she added.
