Jasa Marga Prepares Contraflow on Japek Toll Road During Road Maintenance

PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) is preparing situational contraflow traffic engineering from KM 23-28 on the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) toll road towards Cikampek during the road maintenance work. The maintenance is being carried out at KM 28+175 towards Cikampek to maintain infrastructure quality and enhance safety and comfort for road users. “The contraflow will be implemented situationally, adjusted to the on-site traffic volume conditions to ensure smooth travel for road users. The entire work process and traffic management will prioritise safety aspects for both road users and on-site personnel,” said Amri, quoted on Monday (11/05/2026). Amri explained that the maintenance is being done in stages across two work lanes. Handling on Lane 4 was conducted from 6-9 May 2026, followed by work on Lane 3 starting Sunday (10/05/2026). The work stages include dismantling the existing pavement, preparing the subgrade, selected borrow embankment, geotextile installation, and laying the road pavement layers. The work is being carried out over an area of approximately 50 metres on the Cikampek-bound lane. Nevertheless, the other lanes remain operational, allowing traffic to proceed normally. Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT JTT, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated that the maintenance is part of efforts to preserve the reliability of toll road infrastructure with high traffic mobility. “We continue to perform maintenance regularly as an effort to maintain service quality for road users. With the infrastructure condition kept in good shape, it is hoped that road users’ journeys can proceed more safely, comfortably, and smoothly,” said Ria. In addition, road users are advised to plan their travel times, ensure vehicles are in prime condition, confirm sufficient electronic money balance, and comply with traffic signs and instructions from on-site personnel.
