Jakarta — The Chief Executive Officer of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, Rivan A. Purwantono, stated that outbound traffic from Jakarta by Tuesday (17 March) at 22:00 WIB reached 1.1 million vehicles, representing 32 percent of projections and showing a gradual increase from previous days.

“By 22:00 WIB today, outbound traffic from Jakarta reached 1.1 million or 1,100,000 vehicles, representing 32 percent of the projection. Traffic has begun to increase from the previous days,” he said at the Command Center Post at KM 29 of the Cikampek Toll Road, West Java, on Tuesday (17 March) evening.

In response to the increasing outbound traffic, Jasa Marga, together with the Indonesian Police’s Traffic Corps (Korlantas), implemented the first phase of one-way traffic management from KM 70 to KM 263 on Tuesday (17 March) afternoon.

The operator also predicted that outbound traffic would increase to 34 percent or 1.2 million vehicles by Tuesday (17 March) evening.

PT Jasa Marga recorded a significant surge in vehicle flow passing through the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate in Purwakarta, West Java, on Tuesday (17 March) compared to normal days.

Ria Marlinda Paalo, Vice President of Corporate Secretary & Legal at PT Jasa Marga Trans Jawa Tol, stated that during the first shift, the number of vehicles increased by 201 percent, which she described as quite substantial.

“Just from the first shift alone, we recorded approximately 25,000 vehicles passing through the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate heading east,” said Ria.

“So this first phase of the one-way system has indeed increased traffic volume considerably,” she added.

Additionally, she explained that on Tuesday (17 March) afternoon, the number of vehicles passing through in one hour totalled approximately 5,700 vehicles, compared to the usual figure of around 3,000 vehicles.
